Re: House Rules

I think that the choice whether to have a suppressed trooper or a dead one is an interesting tactical choice - do you play it safe (and thus get the penalty to Activation for suppressed troops), or sacrifice your men for better momentum (avoid that penalty but have troopers killed)?

I'd say stick with the good, old D6. It's the easiest to get in good numbers which are useful for large fights with a lot of FP.

If you are looking for minis, 15mm is a good scale to get large armies on the cheap. This scale is also very easy to paint - sometimes I have painted a whole platoon in a single evening. And there is a HUGE range of miniatures available at this scale in all milieux (medieval, fantasy, WWII, modern, ...

Thanks!

I intend to start with smaller battles (say, a White Legion Panzergrenadier platoon ambushed by some Red cavalry and infantry), but company-level battles are also possible later on. I only worry about the size of my table (60cm by 100cm) and how to fit the companies unto it...

I'd also add anti-armour or armour-piercing weapons. Such weapons will roll only once on the damage table rather than twice (or maybe roll twice and let the attacker choose the higher result?). This is for main tank guns and specialized anti-tank weapons.

Forces of Stalingrad 2072

Reading this thread on TMP got me thinking; after all, the Eastern Front is, IMHO, the most interesting part of WWII, and both the Soviets and the Nazis work well in sci-fi/PA versions. So I brought up the idea of a literal "Stalingrad 2072" campaign (i.e. Reds vs. Fascists clashing in 207...

Here is a walker I painted as a Neo-Soviet "cavalry" unit for my near-future Stalingrad 2072 game. You can see its size compared to an unpainted (yet) Neo-Soviet trooper. Should I represent it as a Veteran infantry figure with Dreadnought armour (2+) and a Light Machine Gun each (and use i...
