VBCW (Very British Civil War)

Hi Folks, we recently played a VBCW scenario one force heard of strange goings on at the home of a wealthy foreign gentleman " trucks coming and going late at night with some men who were armed". So a local force is sent cross-country to investigate whilst some armour support follows up al...

Re: AAR With 40k Imperial Guard vs Warzone Capitol

Playing time was around 2 1/2hrs. The artillery rules were just a play test and didn't work though I have another idea, we have debated whether artillery should actually be scenario specific ie the scenario designer should build in a rule to suit the requirement for that game, as artillery in what e...

Re: Skirmish with 40K/Warzone figs

Hi Craig, thanks for the comments. The overwatch rule works well units go from overwatch to onguard and back giving a nice feel of troops going from heightened awareness to a more relaxed state as targets or spooks come and go. ie sarge targets moving 200yds 2o'clock, you sure i can't see anything. ...

Fubar rules as our group use them

Here are the rules as we use them. FUBAR___IEG__Rules_Expanded__Version_2-4.doc Two quick points of note We have a category of fearless this is for troop types who specialise in close combat, thus they activate well but ranged ability is reduced. ie Warzone Sunset Strikers. We do not use suppresion ...

Re: The Humble D6...

The excellent Blitkrieg Commander system did offer an optional D10 resolution chart on the forums for combat. Other systems have also had fans who have offered up D10 or %tile results, However within the gaming community the humble D6 still rules supreme and even when as mentioned fans and designers...

Re: AAR commentary

Swordsworn that seems to capture a swash buckling feel with the heroes being the main focus. Not at all, this allows the presence of a leader above the inherant unit command to upgrade the unit quality ie: a squad of veterans will become elite if a leader with elite stats is attached. This allows f...

Re: The Humble D6...

I would stick with the d6, Cons- each point modifier is 17% ish thus restrictive. can make some mechanisms trickier ie: artillery deviation Pros- we all own bucket fulls larger flat faces make for less "burnt toast" results most users of fubar will be used to d6. so tinkering with core poi...

Re: AAR commentary

Due to the system being D6 based I believe that most of the figures in a game should be regulars or vets as a single point of difference has a big effect on game play balance. Thus I use hero figures as same stats as thier unit type, however they can move freely about and can attach to units to take...

Re: Another Warzone/40k Skirmish

Craig, the Harrogate clubs rules can be found in the 15mm Fubar Forum. My own take on these is still under development (Artillery Resolution). I am also still testing out the various sections. ie Robots/Bugs etc. What I do like is the fact that they have left the rules as editable thus anyone can tw...

Another Warzone/40k Skirmish

In this fight the scenario was that the capitol forces were trying to neutralize enemy fire bases. The game starts when the capitol forces emerge to find that the enemy big guns have just departed and in place is a small holding force trying to buy time. This force consisted of catachan troops. 2013...

Re: Activation

Possibly an easier solution.
Roll a natural 6 on activation = Free activation, then pass over initiative.
Fail Activation = on guard or assualt or move 6" no fire.

Have a game this evening and will try this out.

Turn ends when one player has activated all their units.

Re: Activation

Hi, My first post here and to throw a spanner into the works. How about this for an idea. Use the existing Activation numbers but utilise a 2 more or less system. ie Vets 3+ becomes Vets 3, activate once on a roll of 2-4 but on a roll of 5/6 they activate for free (do not mark as activated) then ini...
