Froggy's VSF High Atlanteans

Postby Froggy the Great » September 12th, 2011, 3:31 pm

Most of these figures are from with a few from GW and McDonalds Happy Meals.

This army is based off a side-arc from the webcomic Narbonic, wherein Victorian versions of the characters set off in a bathyscape for the moon, end up in a Venus-Mars war, and find out that Mars is populated by doppelgangers of the main character's mother.

It made sense at the time.

Aaanyhoo.

Here's the command staff and representatives of their soldiers of the line:

Canal-Warriors and their experimental clockwork rifles:

They've experimented with cavalry, just a little:

There is only one thing I can say about this and accompanying posts - Bloody Brilliant.

Btw, the Hinterland link takes you to a holding page.
Cheers,
Craig.

New additions to the High Atlanteans, who may also be Martian Hinterlanders, depending on how I've retconned their backstory most recently:

Vehicles made from plastic wedding favors, nails, styrene card, VCR parts, and drywall anchors.

Figures by Hinterland Miniatures and included for atmosphere.

You can go here for a blow-by-blow of their construction.

I haven't made up stats for them yet, and would welcome suggestions.

Most excellent! Well done that chap. Huzzah, and a hip-hip-hooray!

Honestly though I really like the way you have done these :D

I keep thinking "I'm done now, I'm gonna stop, and actually make up statcards for what I've got before making more."

Yeah. Uh huh. Really now.

Figure by Reaper Miniatures, heavily converted. The operator is by Hinterland Miniatures and included for atmosphere.

The original is here:

Changes include but not limited to:
--Handswaps, including scratchbuilding the guns
--Sculpting the feet and the front hem.
--Sculpting the entire back of the skirt
--Sculpting the back of her hair
--Adding spokestacks, thresher implements, and such
--Constructing the control box, tethers, and such so that I could use it with any other mini whose hand happens to approximate the right height.

And I admit it, I glued gears to the base and painted it brown so I could call it steampunk. I'm a bad man.

See the rules thread at the top of the VSF section of the forums here - I finally got the roster updated.
