Gue'vesa warband

Postby Pascal Tognon » July 6th, 2013, 10:53 am

Has been a while since last I made some figures,
and this time it is something different than mercenaries...

Some Gue'vesa'la with a Gue'vvesa'ui and a multi-purpuse big drone.
Sounds like some Japanese menu-card...
Not painted yet, but that will follow...

The entire troop:
Image

The Gue'vesa'ui (sergeant) with attending medical officer.
The sergeant will have to play with the rules that he can't go into close combat
the turn he fired a weapon, cause of his broken arm.
He is armed with Pulse Pistol, Pulse Rifle and small Power Fist.
The medical Officer has a Pulse Rifle, Pulse Pistol and short combat sword.
Image

Two heavies: one Plasma Gun and the other a Rail Rifle.
Both have Pulse Pistols and combat blades.
The rail-rifler also controls the Drone.
Image

And lastly the close-combatter and the drone.
Close combatter has Power Sword, Pulse Pistol and Pulse Rifle.
The drone has Marker lights, Pulse Accelerators and two Pulse Rifles.
Image

Kits used are The Cadian Command Squad, Tau Pathfinders and very few spare box items.
Marine Scouts legs were used for all but the kneeling figure and the medical officer.
(haha, no, the drone did not get marine scout legs either...)

They look tougher than your average Guard, but being a small elite unit within the Tau
community instead of being a number in 100.000 does do that to a figure...

I look forward to put them on the board...

A two man recon team added:

Image

Used kits:
Cadian Command Squad, Catachan Command Squad and Tau Pathfinders with a long pulse rifle from the spares box. The closed helmet is, I believe, from a Leman Russ kit?

Left guy: Pulse pistol, Parang (big, very big knife, counts as sword)
Right guy: Long pulse rifle, combat knife, scanner, vision enhancing helmet
(counts as bionic eye, sees trough smoke plus ballistic skill +1)

First up: the sergeant.
I thought to do a colour sheme not per se in Tau colours,
but to give them the typical tau-feel I did use the Tau
colour scheme...
Call me a conservatist if you like...

The colours are a bit more saturated in real life...
I really ought to invest in a better camera...

Figure not based yet, I'll wait with that till all seven Geu'vesa are painted.

The next one is almost finished,
and I hope to finish him on in the club tomorrow evening.

And the sergeant in a better light,
I hope...

And the third figure is finished.
Despite me saying I wouldn't, I based the three figures.
Three finished, four to go...

Next up:
The binoculars/barret dude.

And number four finished.
After three drab ones, a green to add some colour.
I like the center piece on the chest armour,
and might paint it on the previous models as well.

Next up:
the plasma dude.

I wasn't strong enough to resist the temptation not to build
any more new models until the others were finished...

A commando plus a blueskin.

Commando has a sword plus a modified pulse carbine,
the blueskin has a pulse carbine plus auspex.

The commando uses the Marine scout legs and modified (made smaller) torso,
catachan head and pulse carbine from the pathfinders box.
The blueskin is a straight from th box pathfinder.

Thanks guys, much appreciated!
Doing my best 8-)

Plasma-dude is finished,
but am not content with the way the plasmagun turned out.
In keeping with the overall colour scheme, pastel green was opted for.
Oh well, maybe in the future I'll repaint him.

The chest-discs were redone like the baret-binnocular-guy to represent
an emailled (if that is the correct English word) disc.

Next up: the doc, which will be fun to paint as his will be a colour scheme
leaning to the reds.

Doc Mick Koy Is finished.
The red scheme didn't work out satisfactory, so I repainted him
using a bit of red in the Tau tan-yellow.
The laquered disc (not emailled as I first thought  )
remained red.

Pity the pictures do not show the real colours...
All figures differ a little in the ochre-yellow coulour of their armour,
but it doesn't show in the pics...

And with some chums...

Next up: the blueskin...

Blueskin is finished.
Next up: the Commando, but he will not be finished for a while:
in two weeks time we are organising an international modelling convention
with the scale modelling club, and Euromilitaire is afterwards,
so a bit short on time...

Zer pics: (its a bugger I can't get the acurate colours on the pocket camera...)

Only three more members to go,
and the Gue'vesa are finished...
